Weingut Sybille Kuntz, Riesling Qualitatswein, 2023

£22.00

Why We Like It

If there is one collection we’ve really taken a risk with on our launch, it’s these wonderful Rieslings by Sybille Kuntz. We love Riesling, it’s one of the first grapes that hooked us in by displaying how fascinatingly varied wine can be. From luscious Alsatian sweet wines to laser sharp, bone dry examples from Australia, it’s fascinating. Still, Riesling, especially from Germany is always a hard sell. But once you taste excellent dry wines from a producer as skilled as Sybille Kuntz, you will surely be converted.

Sybille farms her 70 degree slopes organically and by hand. Just think about that - 70 degrees - It’s almost impossible to stand up straight but it’s these slopes that make Mosel the perfect sun trap it is and the grapes ripen perfectly in that late summer sun.

Sybille has generations of winemaking history behind her, but started herself as a merchant, only returning to make wine later in life. Focusing entirely on Rielsing, she works tirelessly to create wines that meet her own incredibly high standards.

What To Expect

A perfect entry point to Sybille’s Rieslings and the variety in general. The green label was chosen to highlight the ripe green fruit that is abundant here. During the fermentation the berries spend a few hours on their skins to draw out its full aromatic potential making this a lovely aperitif.
