Prices
Unless otherwise stated, all prices are quoted duty paid. Plouf Limited is not registered for GST. All prices are subject to alteration without prior notice to reflect major currency fluctuations and changes in duty.
Prices apply only to orders placed online and may differ from those offered through other channels. Any promotions advertised on this website may not be available through other channels.
We reserve the right to alter prices and promotions at any time without notice. Although we attempt to ensure prices are accurate at all times, errors sometimes occur. We will not be obliged to fulfil orders for items that are priced incorrectly.
Prices of wine and spirits can go up or down. We are not liable for any losses incurred should any wine decrease in value from date of purchase.
Stock
Although we attempt to ensure stock levels are accurate at all times, errors sometimes occur. We will not be obliged to fulfil orders for items which are unavailable.
Individual wine bottles (especially from older vintages) vary in appearance. The photographs on this site are for illustrative purposes only and do not necessarily reflect the appearance of the bottle(s) you will receive.
Ordering
You must be of legal drinking age in Jersey (18) to order on this site.
When you place an order online you receive an email with the details. This acknowledges that your order has been received but not confirmed. Confirmation is subject to stock, payment, description and price verification and valid.99ation. Once this has been carried out, we send you a despatch confirmation email, and at that point your contract to purchase is complete. If there are any problems, we will contact you. We reserve the right to cancel any order at any time until the contract to purchase is complete.
We will cancel any order that fails our credit card fraud checks, or on the advice of our payment provider, the issuing bank or the cardholder. If an order is shown to be fraudulent, we will inform the police and cancel any further orders by the same customer.
We only accept orders for delivery to physical addresses.
Delivery
All deliveries must be signed for by an adult aged 18 years or over. If there is no one of that age at the address when delivery is attempted, the goods may be retained by the driver. In such a case the driver will leave notification of attempted delivery, and a telephone number for you to rearrange delivery. If there is no one of that age at the address when delivery is attempted, but previous orders have been made and signed for by an adult aged 18 years or over, the customer may be deemed a regular customer and alternative delivery arrangements may be made (for example, the goods can be left in an pre-authorised safe place).
We offer a Standard Delivery Service at £5 per order.
Deliveries take place on Saturdays. We do not deliver on Sundays, Bank or Public Holidays, Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve, unless pre-agreed by special arrangement. If your order is placed on a Saturday, Sunday or a Bank/Public Holiday, it will be processed the next working day.
Please also ensure that you give us your best contact number, in case of any changes. If we attempt delivery and delivery is not possible, we reserve the right to charge £5 for redelivery, unless you have given us pre-authorisation to leave the goods in a safe place. Any agreement for us to deliver without signature will be at your own risk. We do not accept any responsibility for goods that are subsequently lost or broken.
Although we make every effort to ensure orders are delivered on time, all delivery dates and times are only estimates and not guarantees.
For most deliveries, individual items will be consolidated into one package. Where possible, we aim to reuse the original packaging, therefore some orders may be packaged in recycled boxes from our suppliers. However, we cannot guarantee that the original packaging that relates to a specific product will be included.
In the event that your order or part of your order is broken in transit we will issue a refund for the broken items. If you sign for the goods without checking their condition, it will be assumed they have been received in good condition.
In the event that the wrong products are delivered to you we will replace them (provided we can still supply the product(s) from stock) or have them returned to us and issue a refund. You will not be liable for any additional delivery charges.
Tasting tickets can only be sent by email.
Cancellations
You have the right to cancel your entire order and receive a full refund, including for the original delivery charge, for up to fourteen days beginning from the day on which you receive the goods. To exercise this right, you must inform us of your decision to cancel your contract by a clear statement, including details of your name, geographical address, details of the order you wish to cancel and, where available, your phone number and email address. You must then arrange to have the goods returned to us at the above address. The costs of returning goods to us shall be borne by you. You are required to take reasonable care of the goods while they are in your possession such that they are returned to us in a saleable condition. Your refund will be issued via your original payment method.
The right to return the goods to us will not apply in the event that the product has been used and not in a re-sellable condition, or the return has not been pre-authorised by us.
Returns
If you wish to return a purchase to us, we will exchange it, issue a credit or refund you. You must return the items within 30 days of delivery and are required to take reasonable care of the goods while they are in your possession such that they are returned to us in a saleable condition.
Corked and Otherwise Faulty Wine
If we verify that a non-fine wine you buy from us is corked or otherwise faulty we will issue a credit on return of the bottle in question. To qualify for a credit the wine must have been purchased within the last six months and not damaged or improperly stored. If you suspect a problem, reseal the wine in the bottle and contact us within 48 hours. We may then make arrangements to have the bottle returned to us for testing.
Fine wine is dealt with on a case-by-case basis. If you suspect a problem, reseal the wine in the bottle and contact us within 48 hours. If we cannot resolve the problem ourselves we may refer you to the producer or UK agent.
All credits for corked or otherwise faulty wine are issued at our sole discretion.
Any special order items may not be returned or exchanged.
Events
Your booking is not secured until payment is received. Payment must be made in advance by credit card only.
In the event of cancellation for any reason, exchanges or full refunds will only be given if we are notified at least 28 days before the date of the event. If you do not attend a booked event, no refund will apply except under exceptional circumstances (at the discretion of Plouf). To cancel a place on an event please contact us.
Plouf Ltd encourages responsible drinking. We do not serve alcohol at our events to people who appear to be intoxicated or who are under the age of 18 years.
Private events can be arranged, please contact us for information. A deposit is payable to secure a private event, with the balance payment due 2 weeks before the date of the event.
